The scenery along this ride is most enjoyable during the spring and fall. During the spring the wild flowers are in bloom; and during the fall the leaves are turning color making the roads that much more colorful.

Past Fayeteville there are lots of hairpin turns, watch out but enjoy.

When you go through Fayetteville make sure and stop at Keiler's for a good lunch.

1. Go south out of Hempstead on Tx-159 towards Bellville.
2. Stay on Tx-159 until Fayetteville, turn onto FM-1291.
3. In Frelsburg, turn left onto FM-109 towards Columbus.
